Blizzard has announced the long-rumoured and much wished-for remaster of its classic real-time strategy game, Warcraft 3.

Warcraft 3: Reforged will be released for PC in 2019. It’s an extensive restoration of the game that includes fully remodelled characters, remastered maps and campaign levels, an upgraded UI and world editor and 4K resolution support.

And yes, that upgraded world editor means that mods are supported.

Multiplayer will be enhanced with “modern matchmaking” and “countless quality-of-life improvements”, and “hundreds” of balance changes are being made to heroes, units and buildings. And of course the 62 single-player missions cover many important events in Warcraft lore, including Arthas Menethil’s tragic fall.

Check out the cinematic and gameplay trailers and screenshot below.

You can find out more at playwarcraft3.com, and also preorder the Spoils of War Edition, which unlocks items in other Blizzard games – including a Meat Wagon mount, with fully operational catapult, in World of Warcraft.
